Demantra Experience

MetaChain’s consulting experience using the Demantra forecasting tool goes back more than 10 years when Demantra (at that time Eventus Logistics) was a strategic partner from Numetrix (acquired by Oracle via PeopleSoft and JD Edwards) for the forecasting solution. Since then MetaChain was involved in multiple implementations in the Americas and Europe including but not limited to the following requirements:

Demantra Approach

The Demantra implementation approach is based on MetaChain’s experience and contains the following steps that are important for a successful implementation:


Develop a change management plan
Determine business requirements including business processes
Develop an implementation plan based on size and scope of the implementation
Map business processes to the Demantra setups and processes
Develop prototype and gain acceptance from key stakeholders
Identify areas of improvements

Demand Management

Demand management is the starting point of any supply chain in a demand driven environment. The demand plan is based on different demand sources (typically historic information and/or sales orders) and is used for different planning levels including financial planning, network optimization, production and distribution planning and production scheduling. The forecasting process considers different economical information that is used by internal and external stakeholders to determine a consensus forecast. Within the Sales and Operational Planning different information streams are compared and delivered in a user friendly environment to be reviewed by executives, management and planners.

Demantra was acquired by Oracle around 2 years ago to replace the Oracle forecasting applications (Demand Planning and Demand Management). Demantra is used by multiple customers in a variety of industries to manage their demand planning process.
